Regeneration Cohort

Taja Arya Jinnah is a Visual Artist from Nexwlélexwm/Bowen Island. Their interdisciplinary practice engages with building health, autonomy, and resilience at the individual and community level. They have a growing emphasis on building systems of support that prioritize people of intersectional marginalized experience and rural communities. Utilizing clay, fibre, public education, grassroots activism, and tactile engagement in order to facilitate change. They have worked with the Big Rock Candy Mountain Project, an initiative which provides vulnerable youth with access to artistic engagement and education. They have continued to learn about social responsibility and health through the Fibreshed Field School experiential mentorship program. Taja will graduate from Emily Carr University of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2021.
