Call for Participants: Shumka x Alaphia Feedback Workshops
Knowing better and doing better are different things, especially when it comes to money.
Many people carry fear, shame, avoidance, overwhelm, or confusion around financial decision-making. For neurodivergent people, especially those navigating ADHD, traditional money management tools can often feel incompatible with how they actually think, plan, and move through the world.
Shumka Centre and Alaphia Financial Wellness are hosting paid feedback workshops for people who want to better understand their emotional patterns around money, reduce shame or avoidance, or find financial tools that work with the way they actually think and live.

We welcome a wide range of perspectives and especially encourage neurodivergent people to participate. The team has experience supporting different access needs and will work with you to create a comfortable, accessible session—whether you join by mobile or computer.
Participants will receive $30 honorarium for their time.
The workshops are part of an industry research project with Alaphia Financial Wellness. Over the past few months, students Grishma Shah (MDes 2026) and Selina Kang (BDes 2026), mentored by faculty members Manuhuia Barcham and Nadia Beyzaei, have been exploring how design can support emotional wellbeing and financial decision-making through early concepts for a next-generation financial wellness app.
This project is generously supported by a Mobilize Grant from the NSERC College and Community Innovation Program.
