Partnered Studios and Sprints

Partnered Studios

Partnered Studios allow for in-depth creative collaboration or research on a design problem. During the studio, an entire class is devoted to your creative challenge for a semester. All students in the studio develop work in response to the creative challenge, either individually or in teams.

Partnered studios run for 12 weeks (January to April and/or September to December). Studios can be linked together to allow inquiry to move from exploration through development and implementation.

Sprints

Sprints allow for short term periods of intensive exploration that typically unfold over 3 to 5 days. Sprints generate a large number of concepts and rough prototypes, which can later be further developed and refined by the partner or through another stage of partnership with Emily Carr University.
