Christa Clay
Research Assistant, Fibreshed Field School

Christa is a first year MDes student at Emily Carr. Originally from Texas, Christa received her Bachelors of Liberal Arts in International Relations and Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been living in British Columbia for the last two years, which has informed and developed her practice in ceramics, natural material exploration, and urban food systems. Her preliminary thesis research focuses on how place-based, local materials can work to orient our local economies towards becoming circular and therefore more sustainable. She spends most of her free time making/eating chips and salsa, gardening, and spending time outside with her puppy, Millie.
