Christa Clay is a maker, designer, and researcher based out of Vancouver, BC, where she is currently pursuing a Masters in Design at Emily Carr University of Art & Design. Her practice is place-based, incorporating local material research as well as ethics and protocols around material harvest and process. The center of her research focuses on how material agency can strengthen our capacity to support circular economic models in urban communities. During her studies, Christa has worked as a farmer and gardener when she is not honing her woodworking and ceramics practice. She is originally from Austin, Texas, but has lived in British Columbia since 2018.
