Diego Hernandez

Designer, Design for Startups, Fall 2023

Diego (he/him) is an interdisciplinary designer, originally from Mexico City, focused on communication design. His practice covers different areas such as visual identity, publishing, and type design, among other fields, working in both digital and printed mediums. His background includes a Bachelor of Architecture from the Universidad Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and a photography diploma from Centro ADM. He also leads his own collaborative studio, Studio Muga, where he has developed a wide range of projects for diverse sectors.

Diego is currently a graduate student in the Master of Design (MDes) interdisciplinary program at Emily Carr University of Art and Design (ECU) where he has been researching the intersection between alternative food systems and editorial design practices. He’s also a research assistant in the Occasional Press project within ECU.
