Emilie Jingyi Liu (She/They) is a visual and user experience designer, and currently pursuing her master’s degree of interaction design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Born and raised in Tianjin, China, and currently based in Vancouver, BC (the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ peoples), Jingyi’s immigrant journey has instilled in a deep awareness of cultural adjustment and self-identity adaptation. This experience fuels her passion for empowering clients not only through striking visual communication designs but also through user-centric and problem-solving design solutions. Jingyi is currently passionate about collecting and digitally archiving objects that hold history around her, believing this to be a fundamental aspect of the interaction between humans and objects. In her professional practice, she explores and applies the transformative power of brand design to benefit the community, and she actively assists local clients in enhancing their product visuals through collaboration.
