Reciprocity and Stewardship Cohort

Inspired by her everyday environment, Janek draws from daily experiences that are translated to dreams and fantastical future scenarios. Janek’s work is governed by her exploration of phenomenological theory. Her works reflect her interest in the mutability of structures of experience and consciousness. Janek’s use of formal manipulation allows her to blur the distinction between real world landscapes and dreamscape. Working with mediums such as film photography, paint and recycled materials, Janek creates installations that juxtapose the old with the new. Janek currently studies Fine Arts at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
