Emily Qiang (she/her) is currently finishing her final year of Interaction Design at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She loves designing experiences that put people first. She’s worked as a freelance designer for the last two years, designing user-centered websites for e-commerce shops and consultation agencies. Beyond her own projects, she enjoys fostering community by organizing student-led initiatives where young designers can showcase and celebrate their skills.
Emily’s design practice is grounded in research, usability testing, and a belief that storytelling is just as important as function. Storytelling is at the heart of each of her designs. It is what turns functional interfaces into an experience that resonates with people. She strives to craft tailored experiences that not only solve problems but also spark emotional responses and connect with audiences on a deeper level.
When she’s not designing, you can usually find Emily playing nostalgic video games, experimenting with new hobbies like sewing or PC building, or just whatever catches her curiosity next.
