Fyonna Laddaran is currently a third year Communication Design student at Emily Carr University. Her practice focuses primarily on visual storytelling, with an emphasis on illustration, visual identity, and typography. Driven by her deep curiosity, she aspires to share and amplify people’s stories through the cultivation of human connection and the building of community in her designs. Fyonna’s aesthetic approach is often guided by a sense of play, aiming to inspire joy and child-like wonder through the use of vibrant colours, playful illustrations, and messages of encouragement. As a Chinese-Filipino immigrant, she is also interested in incorporating her cultural background in her design practice, particularly exploring the intersectionality of gender, race, and immigration.
