Jaiden George
Research Assistant, Place-Based Field School

Jaiden George is a photographer and writer presently in his fourth and final year of undergraduate study at Emily Carr. Born and raised in Tofino, Vancouver Island, and coming from a lineage of Hereditary Chiefs that can be traced back 17 generations, his work explores the complexities of meaning making in relation to land and place. Drawing from a broad range of fields such as epistemology and semiotics, and from traditional Nuu-Chah-Nulth Philosophy, Platonic and Cartesian schools of thought, George create photographs that illustrate how the natural world is shaped and defined by human interpretation and intervention.
