Lucy is a multidisciplinary designer completing her degree in Communication Design at Emily Carr University. Lucy’s design practice varies from typography, visual art, publication design, and is also focusing on user experience design. A majority of her work centers around using the power of design to inform on social, political, and environmental issues that are affecting our society today. Social design, design ethics, and the importance of discussing difficult subjects is the main driving point in her practice, balancing both functionality and aesthetics. Her vision is to work with the focus on emerging design technologies and cutting edge graphic design in order to tackle complex human issues, placing the social issues as the priority, and the use of the design process to bring about social change.
