Meaghan Murray
Research Assistant, Capture x Emily Carr

Meaghan Murray is a multi-disciplinary artist from Ontario currently completing her third year in the Visual Arts program at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. She gained her experience and passion for visual arts through a specialized arts program in high school and volunteering at an arts-focused alternative learning program for youth. Her multi-disciplinary practice explores a variety of materials, the most prominent being photomontage, monotype printmaking, abstract painting, digital and analogue film. Her inspiration is derived from graphic design as well as a fascination with history and found images. Through material exploration, her work merges the physical elements of photography with the textural landscapes of abstract painting. Her strong connection to nature and organic forms is also a prominent element within her practice.
