Tide Places
The Tide Places publication was produced as a part of Tide Places research residency, a collaborative cultural exchange between Lou Sheppard, Laura Põld, Laura Kozak and students from Estonian Academy of Arts, Tallinn (EKA) and Emily Carr University, exploring the ecological and social dynamics of the intertidal zones in the eastern basin of False Creek Flats.
In January 2025, participants engaged in workshops, artist talks, and social practice events with students from ECU and EKA, building context for Sheppard’s upcoming work, Tide Change, False Creek, set to be installed at the Emily Carr Broadway Subway Station in 2025. This residency builds on Sheppard and Põld’s previous collaboration, Imelik Maja (2023) and is organized by the Shumka Centre for Creative Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Libby Leshgold Gallery.
