Gallery 881 x Emily Carr

Gallery 881 x Emily Carr is a new partnership between Gallery 881 and the Audain Faculty of Art facilitated by the Shumka Centre to showcase and elevate lens-based works of ECU’s Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts students. 

This two-year partnership serves as a platform to enhance our students’ academic experience and foster their professional growth beyond graduation. 

Led by ECU faculty member Birthe Piontek and gallerist John Goldsmith, this partnership will provide lens-based ECU artists the opportunity to exhibit their work outside of an academic setting and engage with the broader art community in Vancouver through talks and other events.
