​Design for Startups pairs emerging designers with early to mid-stage startups to work on a specific design problem. Between January and April 2026, eleven designers took part in Design for Startups, working directly with the technical and business leads of eleven Canadian startups. Supported by Shumka Centre faculty and advisors, the designers conducted design research to help each company create, analyze, or improve its digital products, services, or platforms.
